Forgotten & Imminent off to a good start in Europe

It was a favorite of a lot of people in 2001-2002 (Yahoo groups) - and, for the first time it has been re-released.  It is in the top 10 for the world genre in Norway, Italy, and #4 in the world genre in Germany on the sites Jamba, Jamster, and O2 (iTunes type services in Europe).

It probably won't pay much, and I already have a groupie --- so I'll just continue to have fun with making music.

Record Union: Forgotten And Imminent

Record Union: Forgotten And Imminent

Resurrecting the old recordings --- and trying a new distribution service out of Sweden (Record Union). Forgotten & Imminent is from 2001 and was a favorite amongst many Yahoo Group users back in the day. It went kinda viral. It is a tour de force of different genres of music mash together in a rather intense fashion...

2 new tunes finished tonight for "Blue Fusion"

The first tune "Lunar Zombie Bar" is a sped-up 50's style exotica piece complete with horns, flute, psychotic fusion guitar, and some indian instruments.  You know, normal stuff...

Alright, I'm finally selling out after 3 decades - I'm finally using a famous name in one of my tunes! (you now hear the sound of drum rolls)...  The second tune  is a dedication to the man who single handedly destroyed soprano saxophone (for my ears, anyway) called "Nightmare For Kenny G."  There are saxophones in the tune - but not the kind he'd like the kind he'd hate!!!  Mix a little glitch guitar on left and right channels (using a sh*ttie out of tune strat knock-off that I love) and.... WALLA... There ya go, Kenny!  Maybe, I can hear in a Cartman voice "what killed Kenny" after this piece hits the airwave(s)...

"Blue Fusion" is waiting anxiously for 1 more tune and mastering before hitting retail...

Currently finishing up 2 new titles due out by July, 2011 at iTunes and other retailers

Both have been a work in progress for a while.

The first is "Blue Fusion" started in late 2009 and almost done.  It features playing of a cheap stratocaster knock-off by Austin guitars.  The use of the tremolo has been fun (and abusive), and no pick has been used though most of the recording - thus very fleshy, thick, and whacky tones... Many nods of influence to unusual big band (ala Pierre Dorge), Jeff Beck, David Torn, Terje Rypdal, Ginger Baker, Ronald Shannon Jackson, Sonny Sharrock, Frank Marino, Vernon Reid, etc etc etc.

The second is "Medicating The Shaman" which was started in 2010.  A journey back to the old ethereal, unusual, exotic, swampy style of ethnoambient experimentation that I have had so much fun with since the 1980's.

Along with the last 3 recordings, "Zxotica," "Otherworldly Natural," and "Under Canopy" these 2 recordings also feature many apps available on the iPhone/iPad. The most impressive (by far) has been Thumbjam.  I view this app as a new revolution for composers like me --- much like multi-tracking, trans-tremolo, and multi-effects units.
